Kirby moved from Canton, Pennsylvania to Fayetteville, North Carolina in 2006 after receiving her degree as an Occupational Therapist Assistant. She is a 2006 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology, an affiliate of Penn State, with an Associate of Applied Health Studies. She began working in nursing homes and wanted more out of her career. this is when she met her husband and began her traveling therapy career. Over the next 7 years, she gained experience working in all fields of practice in Texas, the east coast and in Alaska. She and her husband Chris moved to New Bern in 2013 and she began working for Carolina Orthopedics in March 2014. She continued with pursuing her Bachelor of Science graduating in 2016 from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. She transitioned in June 2017 working full-time. Kirby enjoys working in the outpatient setting with a variety of hand patients. Kirby has interest in pursuing her master's degree in Occupational Therapy. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, painting and restoring furniture. Kirby also enjoys her time on her farm with her chickens and peacocks. Kirby and her husband Chris also enjoy time on their boat and going to their favorite place Shackleford Banks where Chris originally proposed to Kirby in 2008.
