MELANIE RHODES, LAT, ATC, NASM-PES
Melanie served as the Athletic Trainer for Swansboro High School from 2009 to February 2017, when she took over as the Sports Medicine Program Coordinator for Carolina Orthopedics. She joined the practice in 2014 after serving as an Athletic Trainer for the Marine Corps at the School of Infantry East and the Wounded Warrior Battalion-East. Melanie oversees the Athletic Trainers Carolina Orthopedics provides to High Schools in Craven, Onslow and Pamlico counties, as well as South Lenoir and Croatan High Schools. She is also the point of contact for coordinating Athletic Training coverage for community events. Melanie is originally from Montgomery, AL and graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, with an emphasis in Athletic Training. She was certified by the BOC in May 2004 and moved to North Carolina in 2006 to serve as the Athletic Trainer for UNC-Charlotte baseball. Melanie enjoys weight lifting, cheering on her Auburn Tigers and being the number one fan of her son Tyler at all of his soccer and baseball games.
