R. William Ramsey, D.O.
Dr. Randle Ramsey is a native of Jacksonville, NC, and is returning to the community he loves to provide exceptional orthopedic care. He is fellowship-trained in adult orthopedic reconstruction, focusing on hip, knee and shoulder preservation, partial and total joint replacement, and complex revision surgery, including rapid recovery and outpatient techniques. Dr. Ramsey performs the minimally invasive direct anterior approach for total hip replacements, which is muscle sparing and allows for early return to function. Additionally,
Dr. Ramsey has extensive training in orthopedic trauma and fracture management and has a passion to help patients return to their pre-injury quality of life. Dr. Ramsey earned a Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Biochemistry at North Carolina State University. After graduation, continued his studies at NCSU, earning a Masters in Physiology while also working at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences as well as volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician. His passion for direct patient care lead him to pursue his medical degree at the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Ramsey completed his specialty in Orthopedic Surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed additional subspecialty training in total joint reconstruction with Dr. Randall Peyton of Arthritis and Sports Orthopedics in Northern Virginia. Dr. Ramsey is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, The American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Osteopathic Association.
Outside of orthopedics, Dr. Ramsey enjoys spending time with his family, as well as hunting, fishing, surfing and traveling.
